Therapy
After self-healing treatment didn’t effectively work, the next step is to seek a good therapist for help. A reliable mental health specialist whom you can find either from word of mouth or governmental organization can be a powerful helper. Nevertheless, you have to keep in mind that when choosing a therapist, always think of your connection with him or her. “The right therapist will be a caring and supportive partner in your depression treatment and recovery” (Saisan, Smith, and Segal 2012).

Talk therapy seems to be a very effective way to cure depression. This therapy can be either a one-by-one talking or a group discussion (the latter is proved to be more effective as you might get tips, inspiration, or ideas from others and a group discussion therapy will help increase your social activities and network) which will give you many aspects and skills on how to deal with your depression and how to prevent it from recurrence.
The blended approach of cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy is a common method often used to cure patients of depression.
Joanna Saisan, M.S.W., Melinda Smith, M.A., and Jeanne Segal, Ph.D. (2012) also give a comment in her Depression Treatment article about the benefits of psychotherapy for depression treatment:
Some types of therapy teach you practical techniques on how to refrain from negative
thinking and employ behavioral skills in combating depression. Therapy can also help
you work through the root of your depression, helping you understand why you feel
a certain way, what your triggers are for depression, and what you can do to stay
healthy.
