Lifestyle Changes
Let’s go first to the essential treatment of depression, lifestyle changes. The changes of lifestyle might be all what you need to cure the depression (in mild case) though it might seem to be only a simple treatment. It is, also, the method which patient should cooperate with another treatment (if needed) to lift depression as well as the tool to prevent the recurrence after patient can eventually recover from it.

Many ways are advised for the changes of lifestyle to help improve the symptom of depression
1. Take excellent care of yourself. Because symptoms of depression often emerge during times of stress, when you’re not eating well, sleeping enough, or getting regular exercise, but as with any condition, practicing healthy habits of exercising, sleeping well, and eating well is exactly what your body needs to heal and get back on track (Michele Bloomquist 2010).

2. Do the thing you enjoy.
3. Take a break from chemicals. Eating what you think it may provide comfort for you like sugar, alcohol, fat, caffeine, and illicit drugs will only make you feel worse. So, take a break from them and eat only healthy food.

4. Seek social support. Keep contacting with friends and family, joining a class or group as well as volunteering will keep isolation which is a major factor of depression at bay. Ps. social contact should be connected in person as many researches show that while social media can help us connect in a busy world, relying on it too much can increase isolation, which in turn can spur depression.
5. Follow the sun. “Sun exposure increases your body’s intake of vitamin D, which has the potential to improve depression. Just be sure to spend only a moderate amount of time in the sun, and wear sunscreen daily,” stated Michele Bloomquist (2010).
6. Monitor your thought and go easy with yourself.
However, if all among the tips of changing lifestyle don’t work well with your depression symptom, the next treatment should go under clinical practice according to Tomba E and Fava GA (2012), “The selection of treatment in depression should be filtered by clinical judgment”.
