Mental Signs and Symptoms
Sadness
Feeling sad, hopeless, or empty continuously for two weeks or more may lead to the common symptom of depression called sadness.
Irritability
People suffering from the depression may feel irritable or angry all the time with insignificant matters. They will see things vexingly. Moreover, Men are more likely to be irritable than women when they are depressed.
Depression can swing your moods around, keeping you away from the calm you so desperately want. Similar to another mood disorder — bipolar disorder — moods can fluctuate uncontrollably, which is one reason why the two are often confused (Krans 2009).
